CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT
Both the Washington Consumer Protection Act and the Washington cases applying it have created a very wide net that can be used by plaintiffs in almost any consumer transaction. The law is so broad that summary judgment is extremely difficult to obtain regardless of the claim. The Act provides for these claims but the amount is limited. However, often the real problem is that the Act allows for attorneys' fees and that claim can very quickly drive the entire lawsuit. The Consumer Protection Act is frequently alleged and must never be ignored. |
